When setting up the purchase of foreign servers for this site, I saw that Yuyun's Baota virtual host was very special. The price is much lower than that of ordinary servers. Baota's functions are basically not castrated, but there is also a defect, which is the use of shared IP addresses. Fortunately, it is possible to attach an independent IP address, with a price of 4.68￥ (equivalent to 5￥ per month), which expires together with the host. Disadvantages#
- After creating a website in Baota and binding a domain name, you still need to go to the Yuyun virtual host management panel to bind the domain name in order to access it normally.
- When remotely connecting to MYSQL/FTP, please use the port displayed in the Yuyun panel, but in the web program, please use 127.0.0.1 as the database address and 3306 as the port.
For example, when installing WordPress, if you need to fill in the database port, please write 3306 or keep the default, instead of the remote MYSQL port provided by the Yuyun management panel.
If you want to use remote database management software such as Navicat, in addition to filling in the prompted IP, please fill in the remote MYSQL port provided by the Yuyun management panel. At the same time, open port 3306 in the Baota security settings and set a sufficiently complex database password. - Do not bind a domain name or modify the port for the Baota host in the Baota panel, as this will cause the panel to be inaccessible. If you have made modifications, please click the repair host function.
- The opening of remote SSH/SFTP is only for convenient file management and research and learning purposes. The port will not be opened separately. The Baota host is currently still using a shared IP, so do not use it for strange purposes.
- When accessing the phpmyadmin management panel, if there is no attached independent IP, please replace the 888 port in the entry link of the management panel with the port for phpmyadmin displayed in the Yuyun panel configuration information (this link can be obtained by clicking on the database management in Baota). If you still cannot access it, please upgrade phpmyadmin to version 5.2 in the Baota software store and set its PHP version to 7.4.
- Do not upgrade Baota easily, otherwise there is a chance of unpredictable problems.
Summary#
Overall, the experience is quite good, with an affordable price. For Yuyun virtual hosts and cloud servers, not only can you use Yuyun CDN for free, with unlimited traffic, but also go through internal tunnels without detours and without being affected by attacks. This is worth praising.
